A historical-naturalistic route, on board the only boat authorized by the Delta Park, which allows you to grasp, between nature and history, the unique aspects of the
Comacchio Valley.
Surrounded by hundreds of aquatic birds, including a large colony of flamingos, you will sail in the ancient paleo-riverbed of the Po, accompanied by an expert environmental guide, to discover the fishing spots and an unusual and suggestive environment.
The excursion includes a stop and a visit to the ancient Casoni da Pesca, where you can see the original structures and furnishings, the equipment related to the life of the Valleys (the fishermen of the Valleys) and a traditional fishing plant (Laborero) faithfully rebuilt with marsh reed.
The valley basins, extended for about 12000 hectares, constitute a naturalistic heritage created both by water and by man. The Valli di Comacchio are presented as a vast lagoon overlooking the Adriatic, divided by this by a coastal strip and bounded to the north by the course of the Po di Volano, to the south by the River Reno. Already declared "Wetlands of International Importance" in EEC directives such as "Sites of Community Interest" and "Special Protection Areas" for the conservation of birds. Poor depth and brackish water represent the habitat for many species of aquatic birds, in fact constituting a very strong reference for wintering, feeding and nesting: flamingos, avocets, spoonbills, shelducks, shelducks, knights of Italy are the most easily spotted species among the over 320 registered.
